Who is responsible

Niklas Menzel-Sandic, n.menzel-sandic@outlook.com. This is a personal portfolio; write to that address for anything below.

Hosting

This site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. To deliver it, Vercel processes your IP address, the requested page, time, browser and referrer. This is needed to serve the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel acts as my processor under a data processing agreement. Transfers to the USA are covered by Vercel's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Analytics (PostHog), only with your consent

If you click Accept in the cookie banner, this site uses PostHog Cloud EU (PostHog Inc.), with data stored in the EU. PostHog then sets a cookie and local storage entry (ph_*) holding a random ID, and records which pages you view, what you click, your browser and device type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and errors in the site's code. Your IP address itself is discarded and not stored. Analytics events are deleted after one year.

PostHog also makes session recordings: a replay of how you scroll, click and move through the pages, with anything typed into form fields masked. Recordings may be reviewed by PostHog's automated AI analysis to spot broken pages and frustrating moments. They are made only if you accept.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, §25(1) TDDDG). If you click Decline, nothing is tracked. You can change your choice at any time: .

Storage that stays on your device

The site remembers your theme, desktop icon positions and whether you have seen the intro, in your browser's local or session storage. These are never sent anywhere and are needed for features you use (§25(2) TDDDG).

Your rights

You can request access to, correction, deletion or restriction of your data, object to processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Write to n.menzel-sandic@outlook.com. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
